This program is a training course in which students can acquire knowledge and skills in disciplines other than their field of specialization. For example, the study of ancient government offices or temples alone requires a comprehensive study of written records, archaeological materials, and works of literature. We will further discuss the methods and importance of integrating different sources and examine the role of China, to create a dynamic and realistic reconstruction of ancient Japan. Traditional academic mind-frames and theories will be relativized and redefined in the hope that they will serve as a foundation for future innovative research.
