The five-day program for masters and doctorate students consists of on-site lectures and fieldwork in Okinawa and Kyushu. Students will conduct field studies in and around Shurijo Castle, the Seifa Utaki secrid site, Yonabaru-Oyakawa, Yawarazukasa, the Hamagawa Utaki sacred site, Ukinju Hainju, and Tamagusuku Castle sites. Students will search for vestiges of the ancient Yamato culture that have been retained in Ryukyu culture, as well as learn about the unique culture, religion, literature, and folklore of the Ryukyu islands.
